4 Small Details Not to Overlook for Your Modern Shower Design

Hello, my name is Emily Green. Welcome to my website about home maintenance and repairs performed by general contractors. When I bought my first house, absolutely everything was in perfect condition. After living there for several months, however, I started to notice a slight decline in the finishes of certain materials in my house. I suspected that the items needed care, but I did not know how to proceed. A general contractor helped me learn everything I needed to know about home maintenance and repairs. I created this site to share this knowledge with my readers. Come by again soon to learn more.

Remodeling the bathroom in your home, especially the master bathroom is a sure fire way to increase the resale value. The reason the master bathroom is one of the most important bathrooms to redesign in the home is because of the ability to make it a completely relaxing, almost spa-like getaway for homeowners. Since this bathroom isn't used for guests, you can make it as open as you like. Whatever the case, bringing in a modern design is vital. Here are four small details you shouldn't overlook when it comes to the design of the modern shower:

Shadowbox Shelving: Rather than adding separate shelving, the modern way would be to add shadowbox shelving, which is just bringing the wall of the shower in and creating a shadowbox where shampoos and other shower needs can be stored. This keeps the shower as open as possible without having any shelving taking up the space. You can even add glass shelving inside of the shadowbox without it taking up any space either, but also creating some more storage space for yourself.

Shower Lights: Adding lights above the shower is actually a great way to bring a more modern appeal since a well lit bathroom is highly designed. This is especially important if there are no windows in the bathroom, which is actually more ideal. If you are able to add a window, this should be done, as well or the current small window should be upgraded. This makes the space feel more open and light.

Floating Bench: Adding a floating bench is actually a detail that you shouldn't skip out on. For women, this is helpful for leg shaving. However, it can also help with providing more storage, as well and since it's usually away from the line of water coming from the shower head, it can even be used as a place to store towels and other items, such as loofas that should have a dry space to be stored.

Use Large Tiles: Finally, don't be afraid to stray from small tiles. These are no longer part of a modern design simply because they make the shower look much smaller than it is and close it off to the rest of the bathroom.

With these four small details, you can make a huge difference in your overall bathroom design and guarantee that home value is increased, as well as functionality in the space. You can learn more about your options by contacting residential shower services.
